Built in Canada. Billed in Canadian dollars. Financed the Canadian way.
Acquiror AI is made by a Canadian software company. A Canadian billing address is billed in CAD with GST or HST on the invoice, the financing module has a Canada Small Business Financing Program (CSBFP) template for Canadian-dollar deals, and your deal data is stored in Canada. This page also shows where platform AI runs today.

The small things, and the big one
A Canadian acquirer notices the small things first: a subscription priced in another currency, an invoice with no GST on it, a debt model built around American loan programs. Then comes the question a lender, a seller or your own counsel will eventually ask: where does the deal data go?
This page answers both, in that order.
Billed in Canadian dollars, with the tax on the invoice
- Your billing address sets the currency. Enter a Canadian billing address before you choose a plan, and the app's billing page shows every plan in Canadian dollars. The prices on this site are listed in USD; the price in the app is the one you pay.
- GST or HST is itemized. It is added at checkout and shown on the invoice.
- Quebec, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. We collect GST only there today; QST and PST are not yet applied, and the app says so when you enter the address.
- The currency is fixed once you subscribe. Your billing country and province become read-only, so the currency cannot change later. Billing in another currency means a new account.
- Monthly or annual, both in CAD. The annual option is a 12-month commitment charged monthly at the lower rate, not up front, and it converts to the monthly rate when the commitment ends.
- Payments run through Stripe. Card numbers never reach Acquiror AI's systems, and invoices and payment history are in the app.
A Canadian capital stack
A Canadian acquisition may be financed with a government-backed term loan beside a seller note, and perhaps a mezzanine piece or an earnout. Acquiror AI models all of them in one structure.
- The CSBFP template. On a Canadian-dollar deal, create the senior loan from the CSBFP template. The program's maximum principal and amortization limits apply to the loan, and the program's name is carried into the credit memo and the debt-capacity estimate.
- Coverage on cash. The Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) is computed on cash available for debt service: adjusted EBITDA less maintenance capex, cash taxes, working capital and other outflows, divided by the year's debt service.
- Every instrument, flagged. Senior term loan, mezzanine, seller note and earnout each carry an "Included in DSCR" flag. A seller note on full standby stays in leverage and out of coverage, the way a credit agreement treats it.
- Your thresholds. Your organization sets the DSCR bands and the maximum loan-to-value. Pick the CSBFP program in the debt-capacity estimate and the result is also capped at the program's maximum.
The SBA 7(a) template is offered on US-dollar deals and CSBFP on Canadian-dollar deals. Neither program's limit is ever converted into another currency.
Building the lender package:
- Build the structure on a financing scenario linked to the Quality of Earnings (QoE), so its cash flow starts from the most recent locked QoE period.
- Run the stress tests. Standard downside shocks to earnings, capex, taxes, working capital and rate, plus a combined case. A shock never improves the result, and one that does not apply is reported as not applied, not as a pass.
- Solve for capacity at the coverage the lender wants.
- Export the credit memo. A PDF listing each instrument's terms, whether it counts toward DSCR, the loan program, and the coverage and leverage ratios.
Deals that cross the border
Each deal carries its own currency: Canadian dollars, US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, Australian dollars, Swiss francs or Japanese yen.
- A statement in another currency is flagged, never converted. If a target on a Canadian-dollar deal reports in US dollars, the extraction says so and names both currencies, and the figures are shown exactly as extracted.
- The currency travels with the figure. In the Decision Export, an amount taken from a US-dollar statement on a Canadian deal stays in US dollars and is never relabelled.
- Every amount wears its currency. The investment memo, the credit memo and the Decision Export print each figure with its currency mark, so a reader months later never has to guess.
- Buying a US business? Set that deal in US dollars, and the SBA 7(a) template is offered on it in place of CSBFP.
- Each user reads in their own settings. Timezone and currency are per-user preferences.
Where your data is stored and where AI processes it are two questions. This page answers both.
Where your data lives, and where AI runs
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Deals, financials, QoE, valuations, decisions and memos | Canada |
| Uploaded documents and their search index | Canada |
| Your own AI key, if you bring one | Canada |
| Sign-in identity | Microsoft Entra, a global Microsoft service |
| Billing and card data | Stripe, in the United States |
| Platform AI processing | The United States today; an individual request may be processed in another region where the model is available |
Where AI runs today. Platform AI processing does not run in Canada today. Requests go to a provider in the United States, on a deployment type under which an individual request may be processed in another region where the model is available, under terms that prohibit training on your prompts and outputs. Each request carries the document text and the deal data the feature requires, and nothing is removed from it automatically. Acquiror AI does not train models on your data. Processing in Canada is on the roadmap; until it ships, treat platform AI processing as happening outside Canada. Transactional email and the delivery of the web application to your browser also run in the United States, as the Subprocessors page lists.
Bring your own key. Run every AI feature on your own OpenAI or Anthropic key instead, and your own agreement with that provider governs. That changes whose terms apply, not necessarily where the processing happens: that depends on your provider. With OpenAI you can also point Acquiror AI at an OpenAI-compatible gateway at a public https address, and where that gateway runs is yours to decide.
Objections, answered
"Our data has to stay in Canada."
Your deal data is stored in Canada. Platform AI processing, transactional email and web delivery are not, today: they run in the United States. If processing location is a hard requirement, read Security, and if you bring your own key, check where your provider processes requests, before you upload a document.
"Will I be charged in US dollars?"
Not with a Canadian billing address. Enter it before you choose a plan and the app shows and charges Canadian dollars, with GST or HST on the invoice.
"Our lender is putting a CSBFP loan beside a seller note."
Build exactly that: the senior loan from the CSBFP template, the seller note flagged in or out of coverage, and the credit memo shows both with the program named.
"The target reports in US dollars."
Set the deal's currency, and a statement in the other currency is flagged rather than converted. The export keeps each amount in the currency it was reported in.
FAQ
Do you charge QST or PST?
Not yet. In Quebec, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba we collect GST only. Everywhere else in Canada, GST or HST is added at checkout.
Can I change my billing currency later?
No. It is fixed when you first subscribe. Billing in another currency requires a new account.
Is the CSBFP template on every plan?
No. It is part of Financing, which starts at Professional.
